Creative identity; Brand Identity

Researching into how the same logo can be applied in different formats, such as drink packaging, t-shirts, pens, pencils, books and much more. It shows variations of the same design  but on a diverse range of products. When a brand has become a famous well known brand people start to remember the colours of the design, the text and form of it.

These products are called ephemera, this is basically things that are used for promotion or advertising which get thrown away, for example the bottle lid, beer mats and promotion flyers. The logo differs for each product, for example the coca cola products chose elements, the colour, the typography and scale.

The scale is like the hierarchy when using typography, depending on how important the pattern or logo depends on the scale of it. Brand bible means that when using the specific brand logo for a specific brand, there is certain guidelines that they need to follow, for example the scale of the logo on each function, (function meaning the product its on) the colour schemes, imagery and typography. All these elements make the brand identity, it shows elements of the contents in the logo.

Perfect representation of using scale, the logo change size on each product, depending on what each contains, the less informative pieces would use a larger logo, whereas if there is already a lot of text then the logo will appear smaller.

Each design uses different colour schemes to give different outcomes. The black/ dark coloured design looks more high end, professional and sophisticated whereas the coloured one gives you the idea of it being a friendly, approachable and possibly child friendly.

Using black and white in all the different functions, using it appropriately is key. Combing both colour and imagery to communicate their brand identity. The designer wants to be able to show simple elements that the viewer will see from a glance but automatically be able to associate it with the brand.

I want to produce something that looks like these example pieces. Using the logo in different ways to see how the design can fit into various functions.
