Geometric-Organic-and-Abstract

What shape means in art and design. The shape, form of something is a vital part of the practice, if the shape doesn’t read properly it wont communicate to the audience properly. There is three main aspects of shape theory, “geometric, organic, and abstract”, it is pretty self explanatory really, the category geometric is basically any shape that has a straight edge, which can be used a repeated patterns, and could be made into a seamless pattern for a textile product. Organic shapes are from natural plants or flowers which have more rounded edges and curvy shapes, and they don’t tend to fit into repeated patterns as they don’t have straight edges. Abstract shapes are usually more signs for toilets or symbols for cars, that include more details such as multiple line and shapes, for example the camera symbol on the bottom row.
