These are local Artist/Photographers: Shan Fisher is a portrait, wedding, commercial photographer, she also publishes her portraits in the Isle of man Gallery Magazine. Paul Marriott, Brook Wassall and James Brew are landscape, nature and Astrophotography photographers, who’s work I admire. I feel as though I can relate to local photographers because we share the same home, meaning their photos can be of familiar places, like you can really connect with it; knowing/guessing where the photo has been taken or knowing the people in the images.
Bruno Cavellec is a painter/illustrator who paints colourful, textural images, some being quite abstract, again this artists uses his home town, the Isle of Man to take inspiration for his artworks. He has an unique style which feels somewhat lonely, with at least one figure appearing in each painting composed against a large space of sky, sometimes featuring an odd tree. They are emotive, colourful and simplistic. I enjoy his free styled painting and expressive it is, He used oil paints a lot which means it can be quite texturual and impasto which helps emphasise emotion/expression.
